About the artist

Chiara Capony (b. 1989) is a Brussels-based visual artist whose work delves into themes of memory, identity, introspection, and the natural world. Her evocative landscapes and dreamlike compositions blend realism with the surreal, inviting viewers into moments that feel both deeply personal and universally resonant.

She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Communication from UP Diliman in 2011 and further honed her craft through an intensive figure drawing program at Studio Escalier in Paris in 2017. Proficient in a variety of mediums—including oil, acrylic, watercolor, pencil, and digital media—she masterfully balances technical skill with emotional storytelling.

Currently, she is exploring Filipino identity through the lens of nostalgia, using her art to reflect on the intersections of culture, memory, and belonging. Dividing her time between Annecy, Manila, and Brussels, she draws inspiration from these diverse environments.

Through her practice, she transforms the complexities of the human experience into meaningful works, inviting viewers to reflect on the delicate balance between solitude, connection, and the beauty of the world around us.
